My first web design portfolio was a bit of a rushed job. Last year I didn’t have one, and a company I was interviewing with was asking for one. So over a long weekend I built a website using a free HTML theme called Caja. It had no back-end, but I use Jekyll for templating all the pages.
It got the job done, but it wasn’t responsive. And I also wanted something that I actually designed.
My new website uses the WordPress theme Salient. Salient is a multipurpose theme I’ve used on other projects. It has many features for customizing the look and feel of a website. And comes bundled with the drag and drop page builder Visual Composer.
